Songs for Self

A unique song-writing series focusing on self concept, self-esteem and motivation. Facilitated by an accredited music therapist, participants will share their stories, workshop their own songs, analyze lyrics as a group, and record a final product. Previous musical experience not needed – support on piano, guitar and voice will be provided depending on group needs. Facilitated by Trina Chakrabarti, MA MTA.

In person session is 8 weeks long, $160.00+HST per participant. Space is limited!

  • Tweens (ages 11-14)
  • 5:00-5:45pm

  • Teens (ages 15-18)
  • 6:00-6:45pm

  • Adults (ages 18+)
  • 7:00-7:45pm

What does a Songs for Self session look like?

This 60-minute group has been developed by, and is led by an Accredited Music Therapist (MTA) who will guide the participants in:

  • putting their thoughts down in lyric form
  • crafting melodies
  • understanding accompaniment
  • recording
  • self-expression in a creative and meaningful way
